It was still raining out, so I couldn’t go outside. I wondered what Autumn was doing.

Just for the fun of it, I called her cell phone.

“Hello?” I heard Autumn’s voice on the other line.

“Hey.” I bet she could hear me smiling. “Whatcha doin’?”

“Kate, my mom and I are at the police station.”

She’s got to be kidding.

“A little too many DUIs, huh.” I kidded.

“I’m not kidding.” Autumn said. “We are ratting out Kate’s parents.”

“Elaborate.” I said.

Autumn told me the whole story.

“Kate’s parents abuse her!” I exclaimed.

“Yeah.”

“Well, that explains why shes so messed up.” i said in an undertone.

“Warren!!”

“Sorry..”

“It’s okay.” Autumn said. “I’ll go to your place when we are fininshed.”

“Okay.” I said. “Bye.”

I hung up and waited for Autumn.
