One Moment
The sound of the crashing waves. That’s all she could hear. At four in the morning- it was the first time the cruise was, silent. Out on the balcony, she closed her eyes and leaned out on the railing.
Peace. That’s what she felt. Isn’t that why she agreed to come in the first place? But at four in the morning, it was the first time she felt remotely close to that on this trip.
Ever get that feeling? It doesn’t last long. Often it’s only a moment. But it’s an amazing moment. You feel like- everything is fine. Okay. That weight on your back, is gone. You feel like you could fly if you tried. But you don’t, because your content right where you are. You’re not sad, but you’re not exactly full of joy either. You’re just- at peace. With everything. Everyone around you, everything around you, the world. And it makes you close your eyes, and smile.
It felt like that for her. One of those moments.
She remembered why her life was worth living. And she could go on.
All from that one, peaceful, moment.
