Second Life Buddha (2157 AD)

THE SETTING : SECOND LIFE
DATE : 2,157 A.D.
PLACE : Virtual Buddhist Temple

“Faith Moore here, reporting from the Sanjin temple in Second Life. YodaOnCrack’s spiritual journey began in the early part of the 21st century with a web site known as ficlets. Though the human author, J. Inman, died in 2,069 A.D., his Second Life Avatar lived on in the virtual world as a teacher. Footage of the avatar’s last moments ahead. Brian?”

“Thanks, Faith. YodaOnCrack lay on his virtual death bed, his wife on one side, his writing students on the other. He told them that death is an awakening. That only by facing death, can they truly learn the lessons life has to offer. You know Ficlets is now an entire continent in Second Life, the capital city is known as Awesome City.”

When asked about City before his virtual death, Yoda responded:

“Oh, but it is awesome. All moments in time are awesome – even my death. And when you capture it in your writing – then it is forever – forever a word, sentence, paragraph, book, eternal.”
