Don't Say That To Me
I opened my mouth to speak but no sound came out. I looked helplessly at Kevin. He nodded and explained my situation from the begining to his mom, his brothers and Emily. When he had finished Mrs. Jonas looked upset and slightly angry.
“Oh baby, I’m so sorry.” she hugged me tightly, then drew back. “Wesley, listen to me. I’m going to do everything I can to help you. And you can stay here with us for as long as it takes.”
“Thank you, Mrs. J.” I said quietly. She squeezed my hand and left the room with the letter. I could feel Emily and the Jonas Brothers looking at me. I didn’t care, I felt as if all the life had been drained out of me. Then suddenly I had to get out of there. I stood up to leave the room.
“Wes, everything will-”
I turned and interupted him. “Joe, don’t say that to me. Please, just don’t. Because I’m not sure this time.” I walked out of the room away from their sympathy. I went downstairs and just sat outside, alone on the porch.
