Life Stops for a Single, Momentary, Split Second
Have you ever noticed that for a second, just one second, life stops for sirens? As if to mourn the loss of the life at the end. Then, out of sight out of mind plays its tricks and life returns. Forgetting all about who could possibly be the one the EMS is honking at you for. Maybe you have thought about this and you think foolishly of yourself as you continue your drive and day in smiles. Someone’s day was ruined, torn down, and smashed apart into a million, tear soaked pieces and all you do is pause, for a split second. But you know that everyone the EMS passes with its blaring sirens paused too. Just for a split, single, momentary, hold your breath then breathe, second and that the one person at the other end, has been mourned for a thousand times over. And maybe that thousand times was 999 times enough to save a life. And maybe the sirens, who took a thousand peoples breath away in misery, was enough to give that one person, their breath back.
