Shining Eyes

She was so mysterious. Just sitting, and staring. No, not staring, just observing. Looking around the room, observing everything that was going on, not taking part in any of it.

Why? She was beautiful, no doubt about it. Her eyes, outlined in thick, black, charcoal, were bright blue. It seemed like they should dimish the rest of her face. But they only brightened it, making her radiate. Why wasn’t everyone staring back at her, blinded by her light? Could they not see it?

The tiny stud in her nose glinted, competing with her eyes it seemed. Her hair was straight and losely pulled back at the bottom of her neck. The simplicity of it made her even more beautiful.

She suddenly saw me, from the other side of the room. She tilted her head a little, and pulled her thin eyebrows into a frown. Not a mad frown, just a curious one. She was asking me why I was looking.

My breath caught. I was supposed to talk to this beauty? I walked over, and sat down next to her. She smiled. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad.
