My Training NOW
I walked with the drill sergeant to the same, huge, white room. Same old, same old.
I walked into the room. The drill sergeant gave the order to arm myself. I smiled to myself, my expression invisible from behind my visor.
This is gonna be fun.
I reached behind me, and felt the cold barrel of a shotgun that felt like the touch of an old friend, if i ever had friends. I reached on my leg, felt the box of shells, and loaded my gun.
“Send in the drones.” The loudspeaker in the room sounded.
Oh, boy
Soon, a bunch of metal skeleton-looking robots walked into the room and formed a circle around me. There was something different about them, something….
“Upgrades.” I announced.
“Affirmative” The loudspeaker amplified the drill sergeant’s voice.
My grip tightened on the handle, and the robots walked forward, guns in hand.
Guns!? They aren’t supposed to have guns!!
