It’s all right, I forgive you for not reading my mind. I’m sure you’ll do better next time. :)
Seriously, it wasn’t meant as a complaint, or at least it shouldn’t have been, just an observation. In retrospect, I think it’s a fairly common problem some people (including me) have in writing or in roleplaying, which is to say unconsciously thinking ahead as to what should happen even if we don’t intend to have such plans
Then when someone else responds in a way other than we expect, it causes cognitive dissonance. This is part of why I wish there were more ficlet sequels; I think it does me good to have it stomped into my head that other people aren’t going to read my mind and write what I would. This is why I’ve pledged to at least try to sequel stuff that doesn’t go how I expect/want, rather than just ignore it and write something better. If I want total control, I should write the damned thing myself.
well, I read this before I read the prequels but I shall give my opinion anyway. clears throat I loved this ficlet! I didn’t understand the tail thing but I probably should have read the prequel…. Also, I think it works well with the prequel. ~ Confession: one time someone sequelled my story and I just ignored it because I didn’t like it… I feel all bad now
