Why Not The Cweek?
Daddy and I walk through the forest picking every blueberry we see. This jam is gonna taste yummy! I giggle as a big purple butterfly lands right on my nose. He looks at me and I look at him, like we are old friends. Then he flies away.
“Daddy.” I say. He looks down at me. “Can we go to the cweek?” I ask.
“Not today, Ella.” He says.
“Why not?”
“Because today we’re just blueberry picking. Maybe we’ll go to the creek tomorrow. Okay?” I nod my head. Daddy said tomorrow. I can wait that long.
A bunny runs out onto the trail. A bunny, boy oh boy! I run and run and run after him. Faster faster, trying to catch him, but he’s too fast. He disappears. I turn around and walk to daddy. Where’s daddy? He was just behind me. So I walk and walk. Daddy has to be here somewhere. Then that butterfly comes again. He’s just begging for me to play with him so I do. We run all around until… SPLASH ! I land in the water.
“Daddy!” I yell. My head goes under and I can’t get air. I just wanted to go to the cweek.
