Everyone was worried about Wes. She didn’t eat much any more, and she almost never talked. When she left the stadium, I began to worry even more.

Nick hadn’t talked to me about what he had said to his brothers a few nights before, and I was still pretending I hadn’t heard.

He smiled at me. It was the end of the show. Nick and Kevin were taking a bow, the show was ending.

But where was Joe?

As soon as Nick and Kevin left the stage and the stadium began clearing out, I ran backstage.

“Where’s Joe?!” I burst out. I knew he would never just leave the stage like that, not in the middle of the concert!

“He left to go find Wes,” Kevin replied.
