A Walk In Saigon
She had looked my way.
Yes she must have looked at me with those young small blue eyes.
With all the bombs bursting!
With all the bullets whizzing past your hair!
You could not take notice of her stare.
She had kept on walking by.
I had wanted to stop the truck and say hello.
She had slipped away.
I had tried to yell.
But she had disappeared in the masses.
I had not got a name of the blue eye wonder.
She could of speak to me and send me to my knees.
The blue eye wonder was long away from where I had gone.
I had tried to leave to see the woman.
But the military police had my way cover.
With every push, came a harder push my way.
Blue eye wonder where has she gone!
The woman who swept me to my feet!
The woman who had me at a stare!
Where could she be?
Will I see her once more to get her name?
Where could she have gone in a time like this?
All I wanted was a hello.
Now she was gone in the masses.
