“Really? You do?”
I gave him my complete attention. “What? Oh course!” He thought I didn’t?
“Ok.” He looked relieved.
Then he gave me a friendly hug. I hugged him back. It was just like before.
What happened next is just like a scene from a movie, and totally not like Sam.
Just as we let go, she stops right in front of me, and slapped me. Totally hard-core, bitch-slap.
“What the hell?” I yelled. I knew, I was being dramatic, but then again, so was she.
“You deserved it.”
“How, Sam. What did I do.”
“You-”
“No, Sam. Don’t answer. You have nothing to say. I never did anything. It was all you from the beginning. When you pretended to be my friend, or were you really my friend at the beginning? I don’t know, did you plan this in advance, or make it up as you went along?” All the emotion I had bottled up was spilling out.”
“What the hell are you talking about.”
“You never cared about me. Just Jess. And you used me to get to him.”
