The Life and Times of a Nancy-Boy
I’ve never been more embarrassed in my life! How could I have been so wrong about Jodi?
After a few groggy moments, I hightailed it to my dorm room to take a shower. I was covered in mud, blood and asphalt, not to mention heartbreak.
The entire school is gonna think I’m a nancy-boy. God, I hate Mendez!
Moments later, I walked to my car and noticed something wedged behind my wiper blades. My jaw dropped. It was a note from Jodi, of all people:
Jordan, I’m so sorry. Meet me tonight at the creek near the underwater bridge and I’ll explain why I’ve been acting so strange. Jodi. XOXO .
I felt like jumping on the hood of my car and screaming: I’m the king of the world!
Of course! There had to be an explanation for why one minute she’d be all over me and then the next she and Mendez were systematically destroying my will to live.
Maybe she’s dating him, but she really likes me. Maybe they’re just friends with benefits. Maybe she has split personalities?
At the creek, I eagerly awaited her explanation.
