Message In A Bottle

Boys! I lobbed a pillow at Charlie’s head.

In a way, he kinda had a point though. My Dylan-angst needed some feminine understanding… plus Charlie didn’t do the whole bitch-and-gossip thing very well.

I propped myself up on one elbow. “I think you should go home Charlie. You’re young, you have your whole life ahead of you. No need to go down on this sinking ship with me…” He looked alarmed.
“Seriously. I’m tired. I might just go to bed. I’ll feel better in the morning…” I hoped I sounded convincing. Charlie stood up. “You’re not going to do anything silly are you? If you die in the middle of the night from an ice cream overdose, I’ll never forgive myself,” He was making a joke, but I knew he was worried. “Go. I’ll be fine,” I said.

Half an hour later, I had him convinced and I was alone. I sat down at the computer, praying Jillian was online. “Hotmail…” I muttered absentmindedly “Password..”

My heart turned to ice. Right there, in my inbox was a new message from Dylan Carpenter…
