"Prosperity provideth, but adversity provideth friends."
I knew, of course, that there would always be talk. But I didn’t realize how hard it would be to ignore it. When I got on the throne, the people were upset. And when people are upset, they tend to create more negative things to dwell on.
“I can’t believe she’s trying to restore the Protestant religion! Just like her father, that one. A liar at that,” the non-believers would proclaim.
As if these comments could change me. I scoffed at them, their negative comments trying to hurt me. I knew deep inside what I was supposed to be, what I was called to be. And I knew that God was happy with me, which was all that counts. As I once said,
“Prosperity provideth, but adversity provideth friends.”
I knew everything I endured could only make a stronger person. That is why I chose to rule the way I did. And in the end, I don’t think I did too bad a job.
