Another Brick In the Wall
Sometimes, I feel like I’m stuck in a crappy teen drama, like Dawson’s Creek or something. Maybe it’s like The Truman Show, and all my friends are actors and that’s why I find myself in these impossibly annoying situations. They’re plot twists, written by a maniacal TV writer who wants ratings!
I stayed back after class to convince Mr Adams that I needed to swap groups. There was no way I was working with Dylan on this. On Romeo & Juliet no less. Ironic.
He was less than receptive to my request.
“Is there some sort of restraining order situation I don’t know about? You can’t go within 10 feet of Mr O’Brien perhaps?” I shook my head. “Or are you severely allergic to someone in your group, so that working together would be hazardous to your health?”
“No.” I said quietly. Mr Adams shrugged at me.
“Then I’m afraid no can do, Claire.”
Charlie and Jillian were waiting out in the hall for me. “Well?” Jillian grabbed my arm and I shook her off feeling pissed. “He said no. My life officially sucks!”
