Anyone?

Our entire gang was working off that built up adrenaline from the fight for the next ten blocks. Usually the cops don’t stop a small scuffle. What was about to start wasn’t even a full-blown gang fight! I found out later that the cops where after one of the guys in the opposing crowd for swiping a bunch of stuff from a gas station.

“Hey, Todd!” Alex called to me. “Lets go hang at our place, shift at the gas station ended a while ago.”

Our place was Greg’s place. Greg is my best friend. We lived with him since my oldest brother, Boston, went off to college after our folks died.

I nodded to Alex. “Any other you guys wanna come hang with us?”

“Sorry, kid.” Young said. “I have to change the oil in my car back at the gas station.”

“I need to help my mom.” Aaron said, and what he really meant is that he was going to go sell a bunch of stuff.

“I’ll keep ya cump’ny.” Chirs said, walking with me and Alex
