I am Anima (Invisable)
Woohoo. School’s over, incoming weekend! Time to do… well, probably nothing. I don’t really have any plans for this weekend. Oh well.
I head out to my car. It’s an old used Honda Civic, but I love it. It’s in pretty good condition, and I had repainted a greeny-blue color. I pop the trunk and drop my books into the back, shutting it again. I jump to see Jake standing to the side of my car.
“Um, Hey Anima,” he says, half-smiling oddly.
“Hello,” I reply, a bit too brightly.
He fiddles with his coat sleeve, “Hey, so um, whatsup? Any plans for the weekend?”
I shake my head, “No, I’m not doing anything.”
“Oh, great,” He says grinning before he falters again, “I mean, um, that’s great because I um, wanted to know if you were like free because then, I guess, I thought we could maybe, I dunno, go out… to eat on Saturday night? Like Jesse’s going to be there with my cousin and… yeah.”
Elation fills me and for a moment I can’t speak and when I finally do my voice sounds funny in my own ears.
“Yeah, sure.”
