The Colors of the Spectrum (Living Descriptions Challenge)
Liam dragged Quest under nonetheless, ignoring her protests.
They both descended into a black world, quiet and eerie, where the only proof that something was stirring was the drip of the water along the cave walls.
Suddenly, a ray of light shot into the dark, dismal hole, and colors of the spectrum danced wildly on the walls. The two humans stood in awe of Mother Nature; there was a flash of light, and little flashes of reflections played on the floor. They crawled onto the explorers’ feet, and made their way upwards.
The lights continued their wild party, and then, just as suddenly as they had appeared, they vanished. Both of the young students were flabbergasted.
Quest bent and picked something up; it was too dark to make it out, but it sparkled, so she pocketed it.
They went outside together.
“What do you think that was?” she asked.
“Perhaps the sun hit the cave in a specific position,” Liam mused.
She took out the little rock, and her eyes widened.
“D—d…!”
“Eh?” Liam looked at her.
“Diamond!”
