Wake Up
When she opened her eyes she saw pale blue light. For a second she gazed into it feeling nothing and thinking nothing and then… Thoughts started racing through her mind at break-neck speed.
Where am I? What’s going on? Panic was setting in. She gasped for air and clenched her fists. Suddenly there was a woman at her side. “Sidney,” The woman yelled over her shoulder. She fiddled with tubes and foreign-looking instruments. “Everything is going to be fine. Keep breathing. Try to calm yourself down,” she had a soothing voice.
A man with a folder appeared. He was smiling and nodding. “Jane. Please listen to me. Everything is going to be fine. Keep breathing. Your body is slowly coming out of MHP , so it’s completely natural for you to feel…”
“What?” She felt her stomach drop away. The room started spinning. “I don’t re-remember… Where am I?” The two of them stopped and looked at each other. “Jane. You’ve just experienced a very long space flight. You left Earth some time ago… welcome to Mars…”
