“You did what?” I repeated, staring at him in evident shock.
Jake blushed,”I um, set you up with my cousin.”
I glared at him, furious,”Why would you do that?”
Jake blushed again, deeper this time and muttered something about a ‘double date.’ Aha. I see.
“You set me up so that you could go out with someone,” I said slowly.
Jake shook his head vigorously, “No, it wasn’t just that. I figured, when you found out about you-know-who and Cooper you’d need a night out… and I thought I could like, you know, kill two birds with one stone kind of thing.”
I eyed him oddly, “Who is it?”
“Anima,” he muttered quietly.
I frowned, Anima… where had I heard that name before? Oh yeah, “That blond girl who hangs around sometimes?”
Jake looked annoyed,”Duh, how many other Animas do you know?”
I shrugged, “So you’ve already asked her?”
He shook his head nervously,”I was planning on doing it in the parking lot after I talked to you.”
I nodded,”Well, go then.”
He gave me a grateful smile and sped off.
