Macy 39: Unimportant Parents

But Macy was laughing hard now and his face reddened even more. “Shut up.” he teased, playfully pushing her shoulder.

She grabbed his, but instead of pushing, pulled her lips to his cheek. “I thought guys didn’t blush.”

“I guess I have naturally strange cheeks that red at embarrassing times which is called blushing.”

“Thanks Dr.Science, but I’m only at school to get away from Macon. I could careless about my grades and my parents are the same way.”

“So, am I ever gonna meet them?”

“I don’t think that’d be best.”

“Why? They’re probably just like you, right?”

“Not at all. My parents are…people I can’t tell you about in public.” Derrick just stared at her and it was her turn to blush.

“Why can’t you talk about them, Macy?” Holly Porter’s nasal voice asked. Macy smiled up at her as she settled at their table, flipping long,brown hair over her shoulder.

“Because it’s not important, Holly.” Macy told her, getting defensive.

“Whatever, just know that it’s never good to hide things.”
