Mark
Stephen lead me into a dark room where three guys were standing, waiting for me.
I raised my eyebrows, surprised to not see any flesh-carving utensils. “What now?”
“We are gonna give you your mark” Te biggest guy said in a matter-of-fact way.
“What are you going to use?” I asked.
“Permanent body paint.” Another one said. “It holds better than tattoos, but it only itches a little within the first week you get it done.”
I nodded. “Lets do it.”
Everyone’s mark was different. The only similarity was the tiny circle with a diagonal slash through it.
Mine turned out to be a scroll with a quill pen, since I was a scribe. I didn’t like it first, but it’s slowly growing on me.
