Interesting story. Perhaps the start of a series? I’d be interested to see why Drex is locked up and what sort of society is doing the locking.

Okay, the devices start was a cute play on words, though I got a little lost in the part about his captors. Otherwise a very intriguing and engrossing little scenario.
