Moondust toiled over her candles in a room with long tables and a vaulted ceiling. After three days, she had completed the candlework. She chose a location in the woods next to the stream to construct the circle. It was perfectly flat and seemed as if it were created for her ceremony. Surrounded by thickly leafed trees was a circle of grass that touched the edge of the stream. Above the circle of grass was an open place where the sun shone through the roof of the great forest, creating a circle of light within the otherwise checkered autumn shade. A fallen tree cut through the center of the circle and crossed the stream, forming a natural bridge.

When the circle was completed, she knew it was worthy. As a symbol of loyalty, she had constructed a perfect sphere of many small but precisely built candles. In the center of the circle were three large green candles made of tallow. The first stood five feet tall and bore the symbol of the autumn moon; it was the smallest of the larger candles.
