Discovery
I returned to my tent without another word to Lilac, fear boiling in my stomach, making my mouth taste sour. I threw myself inside, onto the cushions, Ishkar following nimbly into the tent. The tears wet my face suddenly, and without warning. I had not cried since that night so long ago with my desert sisters, and I was not sad now. I cried out of fear.
I wiped my face quickly, before anyone could see or hear my small noises. I sat up and fixed my hair, turning around when I heard the tent flaps move.
