Hysteria

Anthony’s laughter died in his throat as several pens, files and even his Rubix Cube (which had the double function of being a nifty paper-weight) began levitating over his desk. Unfortunately he was not the only witness to this strange event – Midge saw it, too. Again. This time, she did not waste any time pointing or turning puce. No, she promptly and very efficiently fell to the floor in a dead faint.

“Midge, wake up! Oh my God. This – this is really happening!”

As Anthony’s hysteria reached fever pitch, the items began soaring higher and higher, almost reaching the ceiling now. His Rubix Cube was lazily turning around, the bright colors swimming in Anthony’s vision.

He inched away from his desk, pinching his arm furiously in the hopes he’d wake up. But all that resulted were painful welts on his arm. To his horror, the items began following him.

“NO! Stop it!” Anthony yelled, covering his eyes with shaking hands. When he was brave enough to look again, he saw that the items were back on his desk.
