Chewing Gum, Friend or Foe?
I sat in class restless, squirming in my chair. I tried to subtly cover my ears so that my teacher wouldn’t see me and think it was her I was trying to block out. The sound came from behind, in front, and on each side of me but it felt like it was inside my head. I couldn’t ignore it. I couldn’t make myself think about anything other than the gum being chewed all around me. Everyone opened and closed their mouths and released the most annoying noises I have ever heard in my life. Finally, after a year of listening to my classmates chew their gum in the most disgusting way possible, I couldn’t hold it in anymore, I had to end this.
