A meeting
She moved-Light, listless movements that disturbed the air around her, pushed the particles aside her, let the silence settle inbetween her.
“It’s a long ride home darling,” he muttered this quietly, as if mere words could break the flickering static of neon blue that encompassed their bleary vision.
“I know. I’m here though, that’s what counts, right?” Her words echoed louder than she had predicted. In her heart lay more empty corridors for secret whispers to reverberate than that in which she stood in now. Her arms drifted to her side and her leg lifted gently, as if to move, and was gently placed down again, an almost inaudible “clink” of her heel was the only indication of movement.
“You’ll go. You’ll leave, you’ll never come back. You left once, you left twice, and when you leave now it will be no different, you knew what you did to me.” His fists curled, uncurled, and curled again. He missed her, this was more difficult than he had imagined.
“It’s okay, love, time will heal,” and with that, she left.
