(Hear Ye Hear Ye Challenge) Alien Invasion
“Alien Invasion, read all about It”, “Alien Invasion, read all about it”, the newspaper boy shouted from the busy street corner.
Of course the boy was referring to the landing of the space craft on the White House lawn that morning.
President Truman’s’ photo was on the front page of the Daily Observer, a perplexed look upon his face, a crowd of soldiers standing behind him, General Douglas Mac Arthur by his side, smoking a pipe.
Professor Owen Victor purchased a paper, and silently read the article. He shook his head in deep thought. He knew this day would come. He hoped the president and the military exercised caution.
“Taxi”, he shouted. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, he told the cabbie, “Step on it please my good man, it is a matter of life and death.”
The taxicab stopped as close to the White House as possible. The Professor pushed his way to the front, showed his ID to a Secret serviceman, and was ushered to the front lawn.
“Mr. President,â? he said, “It is of the utmost urgency that I speak with you.”
