Silence, continued.
Once my companion, silence, returned, I stood and climbed from the abandoned van, only to discover that I had no idea where I was. A gas station, long abandoned, stood across the crumbling highway, and behind me a trailer park for trees and brambles spread. I closed my eyes, and remembered the ride up till this point. We had made only one turn, left onto this highway. It wouldn’t be hard to return. I turned around, opened my eyes, and began to walk.
