The main character is obviously introspective and possibly obsessive. Lots of places you could go from this starting point. Well done!

A big, familiar theme given in a nutshell. One could call it an allegory but it doesn’t have to be. Big themes can turn up in mundane surroundings. Your best story yet—in this humble reader’s opinion.
