Rooftop Garden

Devon walks up the long narrow steps, that take him to the rooftop of his appartment building. He makes this journey every day, once he is home from work.

This time he looks forward to all day. The pressures and stress of the day just melt. He is above and away from all the things that stress and fatigue him. The sirens and the commotion of the city seem faint and distant.

Sometimes he will stay up here until the stars come out, and even later. He loves watching the stars from up here. It is away from the light pollution that plauges the city. Every now and then he spots a shooting star. When spotting one he makes a wish.

At the rooftop of his appartment building he has a garden. It isn’t much, but to him it is his scantuary. It’s what he calls an urban garden. Granted he has no flower beds or mounds of soil to dig through. Here he can make peace with life and the world he lives in.

Sometimes he has even brought dates up here. When he wanted a special moment to share with someone.
