When Your Eyebrows Are Tattoos

“If you could get a tattoo,” asks Michael to the waiting audience. “Where would you get it?” At first, nobody raises their hand. Then, suddenly a lonely looking hand appears.

“Ah, Kathy, I knew you’d be willing to answer.”

The fragile-looking woman known as Kathy stands up, then she walks to the front of the room. “Nobody really thinks of these,” she begins. “Until your doctor calls,” she pauses for a second for drama. “To tell you that you have cancer.”

All attention is on her now. Then she continues. “Okay, so you lose your hair.” Then she shrugs. “Most people think about the hair on your head.” She sighes. “But what about your eyebrows?” She traces her finger over her right eyebrow.

“These,” she says, pointing to her eyebrows. “Are tattoos.” You hear a few people shift in their seats, but it still remains quiet. “So if I could get a tattoo, which I did, I would get eyebrows.”

Then all you hear is applause.

Clap, clap, clap…
