Anna looked down at her feet still taking these words in.
Jack smiled, “There now,” and he put his arm around her shoulders and helped her walk forward,”the newspaper shop is just around the block.”
The newspaper shop had a big red sign on the front of the building that read in white letters ‘Tallyford’s Tribune’.
“Oh..” Anna murmered but Jack heard her anyway.
“Oh what?” Jack asked.
“Nothing, I just didn’t know what city I was in.”
Jack looked at her with a puzzled look, but Anna hurried on in the door before he could ask her anything. An older man with his white sleeves rolled up who seemed to be the manager turned around & put a huge smile on his face seeing who walked in. “Hey Jack! How are ya?”
“Hey Randy! I’m doing really good today,” he smiled and snuck a glance at Anna,”how are you?”
“Oh you know me, just dandy Randy! Oh! Now where are my manners. What is your name young lady?”
Jack answered for her “This Anna Love. I offered her a job.”
Randy’s face suddenly turned hard and cold.
