Very nicely written. The tension from earlier in the series continues to mount in this piece, despite the fact that Tara has just killed the old man and can now seemingly escape. The last section here in particular had me on the edge of my seat.
Small correction – in your second paragraph, you wrote “yes” where I think you meant to write eyes.

Once In a Lifetime by the Talking Heads. You should check it out—classic intellectual pop of the 80’s. Nice addition to the series, full of that sort of detached state of being and hesitant curiosity.
