Unconscious, Alice the mutant super-macaque lay at Dr. Munroe’s feet. Stella aimed her .38 at Dr. Munroe.

“How dare you, â€? Munroe yelled. He threw his opium pipe at her in disgust. “They’re merely super-intelligent ass-kickin’ apes to you, but to me they’re flesh and blood! Some of the hybrids have my DNA in them. How dare you, Stella Star! You’ll pay. You will pay!â€?

“Save it for the judge, Munroe,â€? Stella said, firing a round near his feet. “Now get a wiggle on or we’re gonna miss our flight.â€?

“Not so fast, Stella Starr,â€? he said. “Zorro, release the Queen!”

Stella watched as the silverback pulled back three long metallic levers, revealing a 30 foot spider-monkey. When the third lever was pulled, the giant spider-monkey was free. She ran her paws through her hair, picked Stella up, and moved her close to her mouth. The acrid smell made Stella’s eyes water.

“Get your filthy paws off me, you dirty spider-monkey,” Stella yelled. She fired the .38 into the monkey’s face and Stella fell to the wet pavement.
