The dim light of an empty lab
General Haley slid the key card through the slot and slowly opened the door. The name plate said “Doctor Ian Oliver”, and even though General Haley was authorized, he exercised caution not too be seen.
“Something is off with those log files.” Haley thought to himself as he quietly closed the door of the lab.
Ian had been very thorough in filtering the test data, but that left a time gap in the log files. One he had hoped wouldn’t be noticed by the General.
Haley probed through the desk drawers, careful to leave everything back in it’s place, finding nothing of importance.
The General sighed. “Nothing. I know he is hiding something, but what?” The General scanned the top of the desk. “Maybe I am just being paranoid.”
Giving up, and turning to leave, he caught movement in the corner of his eye, and heard the sound of a breaking glass as a beaker was knocked from the lab table.
General Haley rushed over to the corner of the lab, but found nothing, except some broken glass, and more questions.
