Alternatives [Dream Challenge]
I stepped up to the mic, my bass across my back. “Alright guys, I’m gonna sing this one.” I say to the tiny, but screaming, audience. I can feel the blood rush to my face, I’m not usually the one in the front. I leave the bass on my back as the rest of the band starts playing “White Wedding”, and I start to sing. As I get to the line, “Who’s your superman?”, the crowd really goes wild, and I turn to see Billy Idol himself sauntering onstage. He’s still completely sexy, with platinum hair and his signature clothes (though his face looks about as leather as his pants these days).
After the show, I say goodbye to the rest of the guys as I haul my Coffin Case out to my beat-up black Jetta. I have to get home and get some sleep, I have a book signing tomorrow. I drive the whole two hours home and shower, washing every trace of the makeup from my eyes. I fall asleep before I’m even under the covers.
The next morning, I head to Border’s to sign my new best-selling novel, one I wrote for NaNoWriMo.
I love life.
