After the ship came to a stop, the computer informed Todd that the target destination had been reached. Todd reached forward and activated the view screen to show the dark sky in front of the ship. The sky was spotted by some far away galaxies but little else. The familiar site of a night sky filled with stars was gone.

“Wow, I’ve never seen such emptiness.â€? Todd exclaimed as he looked at the view screen. “It’s kind of creepy how different the sky looks out here compared to how it looks from inside our galaxy. They told us to expect this in the briefings we had about deep space, but I had now idea how palpable the feeling of emptiness is out here.â€?
