Evelyn's Victory Garden
Evelyn tended to her garden . Every morning after breakfast she watered the flowerbed and trimmed the hedges. This took quite a while, since the foleage was so dense and lush.
While she did this on a daily basis, spending time in her patch of flowers and plants. The air helped her clear her head. The world could bring her down to her lowest points. But when she is here, peace is found. This is her sanctuary.
Nature has a way of bringing peace to people. It soothes their soul and calms their spirit. During the war, people needed this type of scantuary. The constant barrage of bad news and dissapointment.
Evelyn would sometimes retreat to her garden in the evening. Usually after the news. The sadness would overhwelm her. She would seek refuge in her garden. Among her flowers, trees and vegetables. This is where she feels safe, at peace. The fragrant flowers soothes her mind and allows her to feel calm. Even when the outside world is anything but. This is her victory garden.
