Initially, when the pic loaded and hit me first before I read a single sentence I laughed. But after I read the story I now see the masked man in the suit with less of a chuckle and more of an onslaught of corporate America images, globalization and the thought that we may be living in the country of the enemy. Chilling stuff.
God Bless America, Tad – but we’re living in a global economy now – anything can happen. All Hail the Corporation, Inc.!!! Perhaps a better fate than nuclear attacks by terrorists? Maybe 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other?
I’m gonna continue the series offline & do some other funnier stuff here at ficlets. This series is one I’ve taken seriously & want to continue, but it will grow tiresome here soon enough. Thanks for the encouragement though…
Actually, I was about to say this one wasn’t up to Commander Aslög’s standards: it read more like background notes for yourself than a prequel. I wish you luck as you develop this scenario: I’ve very much enjoyed reading about the Corporation, Incorporated!
It wasn’t my Mr. Hankey offshoot that turned you off on continuing here was it? I meant no offense. It’s just that THX set me up perfectly and I couldn’t resist.
I’m afraid to read the Mr. Hankey offshoot myself, though I apologize for any part I played in it. I thought was a good example of the bombast and self-glorification typical of any fanatical group…dead-on, really. Best of luck with the off-site development! I’m in the middle of my first post-ficlets, off-site, larger project, and it is a fun change of pace/style/intent.
