Recognition
“Lets get a bite to eat. I’m starving,” Britney said.
“Yeah me to babe, armed robbery really works up an appitite”, he laughed.
“Lets eat at that diner,” she said.
Jared pulled the car into the first available spot and hopped out. He held the diner door open for Britney. They sat at a booth, and looked suspiciously around.
“Ya know this really is kinda bold Brit, the cops could come in here any minute and bust us,” said Jared.
Britney laughed.
They both ordered burgers, fries and Cokes.
They ate sloppily, in a rush, as if they had never tasted food before. Thier high was wearing off.
A dark skinned man at the counter looked in thier direction.
“What are you looking at Pop’s?”, Jared asked.
“Nothing, absolutley nothing,” the older man replied.
“Jared,” whispered Britney, “let’s don’t get into anything to call attention to ourselves.”
“It’s ok babe, nobody’s getting hurt here,” he said.
“Yall takin a chance comin in here like dis”, the man said, “I know who youse is.”
