Trouble at Sirius II: The Black Swan
The Amethyst shook as a volley struck the port side.
“Cap,” came Pavel’s voice over comms, “we take another like that, and we’re screwed,”
“Keep my ship together, Pav. Reroute life support and increase power to the injectors if you have to, but keep us alive for five more minutes,” Locke ordered.
“Five minutes?” the comm channel went silent with a loud click.
“He’s pissed,” LT smiled.
“What is he not? Open a channel!” Locke pointed at the view screen.
“Go,”
“Murphy!”
“Locke, how’s the battle.”
“We’re taking a shit kicking. Whatever you’re going to do, you better do it fast. That cruiser is packing a punch,”
“Come about; fill his view screen – he won’t seen us coming!”
“10-4 .. if we make it out of this, you owe me a bottle of your best Regalian bourbon,” Locke bartered, and closed the channel.
“What’s the status on turrets?”
Nevil eyed the weapons console, “operational,”
“Blast them with everything we’ve got!”
“Aye” Nevil tapped commands into the computer and the solution was executed.
