Her eyes did a quick sweeping of the floor. Where is he? She couldn’t hold it in any longer; she started crying. “Scarlet?” a voice said from behind her. “Charlie isn’t here.” it said. “I know. I know.” she turned around and saw Kyle looking at her. “He told me that he didn’t plan on coming. He said he had more important things to do than stand around in some stuffy art museum.” Scarlet saw Jason walk up beside them. His eyes spelled anger. “I- I’m going to the bathroom.” she stammered. She didn’t want to be there right now.
She ran right into Professor Thurman. “Oh, excuse me.” He wouldn’r let her pass. Instead, he lifted her small chin with his index finger. “What’s the matter?” he asked. He wasn’t trying to be nosy. “It’s a long story.”
“Long enough for dinner?” She stared in surprise. “I mean, we’re celebrating the exhibit, but not much celebrating is going on.” Scarlet nodded her head and smiled. “You wouldn’t mind, would you?” She nodded. She wouldn’t mind. “Elvis has left the building.” he said
