Yup, the dialog is New Orleans “Yat” inspired, with a bit of coastal Irish thrown in.

I like the story, but I have to say, I’m not digging the dialect. More often than not I prefer dialog that is easier to read rather than trying to recreate a local dialect. I think you did a fairly decent job with your interpretation of the dialect, but it still felt a little forced and awkward to me.
