Waiting
Ninik the fire-fairy was getting really annoyed. Technically she was a fire-imp but she liked the alliteration of “fire-fairy”. Her title was Mage Lord, member of the High Council. A great honour indeed for a fire-imp, but this was not something many of her friends knew. She was not accustomed to being kept waiting.
The message, she had gone through so much trouble to send securely and surreptitiously to the stupid stone-giant was very specific. meet at baobab forest it said noon, third full moon after lunar eclipse. why was he so infuriatingly late
To release the frustration she summoned a fireball, playing with it, molding it, releasing it, retracting it, honing her skills. All the while taking great care not to harm the sacred baobab trees. Although these ones, facing the harsh unforgiving desert had almost no magic left in them.
better safe than sorry
that damn giant is three minutes late already
A wind swirled some leaves into a dusty miniature tornado.
“Ah, Uh, am I glad to see you!”
