The Element: Foothills

The dwarf entered the cave, huffing and pulling at his red beard, “We’ve been runnin’ through these hills for days, Kendra, me ol’ legs need rest. But, the way is clear, for now.”
“I know, Axym, but we will continue running. We may only rest for a little while; time to catch our breaths, that is all,” the young woman said. She huddled over the 10 year old child, carefully wrapping her in a worn burlap blanket. Their bones collectively rattled with the chill.
“What ails the girl, anyway?” asked the dwarf, “she seems perfectly fine to me!”
The girl peaked through the blanket, her lightning blue eyes stared into Ayxm’s of green. Her whisper was haunting,
“They are coming,”
Gooseflesh prickled the back of the dwarf’s neck.
“Who is? What is she talking about?”
“The dark wizard and the swordsman!” Kendra answered, “She has foreseen it,”
“Gah, prophecies and fortune telling! I’ve more faith in me axe!”
A man’s voice came from the mouth of the cave.
Said the Swordsman, “Then you may use it to help me save her,”
