Bumping into Ranulf
I went back and, despite my better instincts, I was going back to try to make my relationship with Davin work, no matter how hard it was.
I made it to the passages and was walking slowly, planning words and phrases and calming techniques for our ‘talk.’ Before I found him, however, I was waylaid by Ranulf.
“Oh, Fae!” he cried, nearly bumping into me as I turned the corner, “I was just looking for you.”
You had us worried there, he added in his head.
I sighed, “Sorry, I had a brief lapse of control.”
He nodded understandingly, Werewolves and Dragons have the most control issues. “Your brother’s been asking for you. He says you owe him a particular… explanation? And that he wants you to be directly involved in the testing… because he only trusts you, so he wants your ok on all the tests. Melisizwe was a little difficult at this, but I said that was highly understandable and reminded Melisizwe that the more willing the Assassin is, the easier it is for us.”
I grinned, “What would we do without you?”
