If you read this from the beginning, you’d see that his paranoia is justified. His son’s life was threatened, and at one point his wife was kidnapped. It’s all part of the life, being a programmer for a super villainous organization. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my story. It’s always appreciated.
I read the whole thing, and I realize the seeds of mistrust were sown back during the melting soldier scene. Just trying to say that the written distrust of Jen makes me question her background just as much as the main character does. Great writing and I can’t wait to see where it all goes.
@JMSquire, sorry, just promoting the rest of the series. =P Didn’t mean to come off as so defensive, but I think that’s kind of how it read. Sometimes people jump in during the middle of these things and miss the nuances of the characters, so I was just trying to give background. Thank you for reading through the whole thing though, that’s awesome!
Ah ha. So, he’s wondering about her loyalty as well. And as for your comment banter above, I think a healthy amount of paranoia is justified in this series. (Great work all around from the three of you!)
